Successful Alumni Profile: Denise Radeloff ’13

“There is not a doubt in my mind that if I did not attend Shenandoah University, I would not be where I am today.”

Denise Radeloff ’13 chose Shenandoah because the tight-knit campus truly felt like her home-away-from-home. “It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that everyone from the lunch lady to the president knows you by name.”

Successful Alumni Profile: Kathryn Ogden ’14, Psychology

SU psychology major, Kathryn Ogden ’14, is a resident in counseling at the Winchester Community Mental Health Center. In this role, Ogden counsels clients from all backgrounds and for a variety of reasons. She also runs groups that include individuals who were recently released from a hospital for mental health reasons. “I find the rewarding experiences are when my clients feel comfortable opening up and sharing their secrets. I think it takes a great deal of trust for someone to share information that they have never shared with anyone before.”

In The News

“My experience in the Environmental Studies program at Shenandoah went far beyond just the theories and hypotheses that are taught in the classroom,” states Daniel Cooper ’13. “Dr. Bousquet and Dr. Kincaid had us out in the field, letting us learn real-world techniques and procedures. These experiences were very valuable when it came to applying for positions. As an entry level applicant, I had some skills and experiences that were usually only seen on professional resumes.”

Dear Alumni, Faculty, Staff and Friends,

On August 6, several Alumni Association Board Members (Ruth Unhoch Wenzel ’88, ’90, ’98, Bryan Newman ’99, ’04, Bobby Spiers ’69, Carolyn Boyles Nesselroade ’56 and her husband, John , Pam Bell ’71, ’83, Bob Crawford ’56, Stephanie Unhoch Cross ’92, ’94, Jane Danchisen Pittman ’89 and of course, me) took a day trip to Dayton to learn more about Shenandoah University’s roots.

Return to campus for the Conservatory Alumni Reunion! Along with favorites from last year, such as the "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere" Mixer and the Jazz Jam Session, we added several other fun events, including the Ira Lindberg Harris Lip-Sync for Your Life! and Reading Sessions. The choral session will be led by Karen Keating ’02, while the orchestra session will be led by Don Black '50, Ray Fowler and Jan Wagner.
